Me acabo de pillar un resumen del Tour que acaba de terminar en Estados Unidos, montado en un vídeo en formato ASF (para el reproductor Windows Media) en el que se recogen secuencias de imágenes fijas sobre el fondo de los directos de Neil Young.
Mientras escribo esto lo estoy viendo. Llevo ya algo más de 1 hora y 45 minutos de visionado y está apunto de terminar.
Por mi pantalla han pasado imágenes de los teatros en los que Neil actuó, entradas de cada uno de ellos, las portadas de los conciertos compartidos en Dime A Dozen, los instrumentos y otra cacharrería repartida por el escenario, la llegada de Neil y Pegi al teatro, los músicos que le acompañaron, fotos de Pegi, fotos de Neil correspondientes al set acústico y al set eléctrico, fotos de los saludos finales y la despedida, y al final, un corto vídeo de Eric Johnson, el autor de las pinturas que se exhiben en los conciertos y cuya venta sirve para recoger fondos para la Bridge School y un repaso a sus pinturas.
Y todo ello con la música de fondo de las canciones del Tour.

The same core songs of course but different selections.
I’ve compared each version of every song from all the recordings I have (most of them!) and picked the best version of each to my ears. There are only 3 song versions that appear on all 3 acoustic compilations where those three songs were performed only once and only 1 version (NHP) that appears on both electric comps.Most of the acoustic songs I’ve selected are from Boston Dec 3 and Upper Darby Dec 9.
I’ve included both the piano and synth versions of A Man Needs A Maid Also included are two versions of Mellow My Mind, including the first night from Boise with the mouth harp intro.I’ve put all the piano songs together onto Disc 2. A couple of years ago I compiled Piano Songs 2, so I’ve subtitled Disc 2 ‘Piano Songs 3′! albeit a rather short disc so I’ve also included from the BSB October 28th ‘The Way’ and though not a piano song, the acoustic band version of ‘No Hidden Path’

To my ears this show was the most clear and dynamic for the loud electric songs.The only fades here are the long loud audience applause at the end of each track.

Then Goldwave to cross-fade the end of one track into the start of the next for each disc. No gaps.Some commented on dime how the best acoustic set could be from one show yet the best electic set could be from another show. I certainly found this to be the case.
Many thanks to ron dironstarr for giving me the inspiration to have a go myself and to cherrman57 for making me work even harder to go the whole hog and not just another acoustic compilation.

2007 Chrome Dreams Continental Tour Compilation
A Compilation of the just completed USA Neil Young Tour. Only mastering done to tracks was to groupwave normalize them to -12db in Adobe Audtion. Fade in/out was also performed on each track. I broke it up into 4 discs to better reflect the set makeup of the shows. I also attempted to include at least one track from each venue on the tour. I’ve listened to it all together 3 times and am quite happy with how it sounds.
Thanks to all the tapers and uploaders! It truly was a great tour! Looking forward to hearing all you European Tapers work in 2008!

2007 Chrome Dreams Continental Tour Compilation
A Compilation of the just completed USA Neil Young Tour. Only mastering done to tracks was to groupwave normalize them to -12db in Adobe Audtion. Fade in/out was also performed on each track. I broke it up into 4 discs to better reflect the set makeup of the shows. I also attempted to include at least one track from each venue on the tour. I’ve listened to it all together 3 times and am quite happy with how it sounds.
Thanks to all the tapers and uploaders! It truly was a great tour! Looking forward to hearing all you European Tapers work in 2008!

The track marks were a little off on some songs as well. So I corrected that and also removed some mic noises and loud shouts inbetween some songs before making flacs and uploading.
